The Panama mission to the United Nations, currently presiding over the UN Security Council, confirmed to the agency that the session will be held on Thursday at Russia’s request.
This comes after the Central Election Commission decided to strip Dodik of his powers, following a court ruling in Bosnia and Herzegovina sentencing him to one year in prison, which also prohibits him from engaging in any political activities for six years.
The decision of the Election Commission will come into effect after one or two months, upon the expiry of the appeal period.
