Diwali: Festival of Lights and Naval Celebrations

Diwali, known as the “Festival of Lights,” is one of the most important celebrations in India. It is celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and some Buddhists, typically spanning five days between October and November according to the Hindu lunar calendar.

While speaking to navy personnel aboard the ship, Modi stated that the exceptional coordination among the three naval forces forced Pakistan to surrender during Operation Sindhurakshak.

While aboard the warship ‘Vikrant,’ the Prime Minister’s agenda was filled with engagements, officials reported. He visited the cockpit, surrounded by MiG-29K fighter jets, and witnessed an air show that included take-offs and landings of the fighters.

This year’s Diwali celebration with the navy continues a decade-long tradition of spending the festival with the Indian armed forces.
