Dubai Health has welcomed 25 new Emirati nurses as part of Ru’ya Careers UAE 2025’s opening. This initiative continues three years of growth in nursing, showcasing Dubai Health’s dedication to enhancing the healthcare workforce.
The announcement occurred at Dubai Health’s exhibition stand, attended by Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al-Falasi, Director General of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department; Eng. Marwan Ahmed Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, and Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health and President of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU).
During the event, new Emirati nurses received a “Patient First” pin, symbolizing Dubai Health’s core value, pledging to prioritize patients in their practice.
Dr. Amer Sharif expressed pride in welcoming these Emirati nurses after their successful completion of accredited training. He emphasized this move as part of the commitment to developing national talent and enhancing healthcare quality, aligning with Dubai Social Agenda 33 goals to create a modern, sustainable healthcare system.
Dubai Health has significantly advanced Emiratization in nursing, with a 150% increase in Emirati nurses from 48 in 2023 to 120 now. The total nursing staff, covering all nationalities, now surpasses 4,400, ensuring high standards of safe, compassionate care as per Dubai Health’s Patient First pledge.
He noted that Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s directive to name MBRU’s College of Nursing and Midwifery after Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum has inspired Emiratis to enter the field, boosting interest and supporting Dubai Health’s efforts to attract and develop national talent.
MBRU’s Hind Bint Maktoum College of Nursing and Midwifery provides diverse programs, including master’s degrees, postgraduate diplomas, and certificates in intensive, pediatric, cardiac, and emergency nursing. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is forthcoming.
