Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) is set to introduce a unique taxi, unlike any other worldwide, as revealed by its CEO.
The innovative electric taxi was showcased at the Gitex Global 2025 event at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
“Exclusively designed by DTC, this taxi will join our fleet at Dubai International (DXB) in the first quarter of next year, before expanding to other city areas,” shared Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, during a Khaleej Times interview on Monday.

This new taxi will elevate Dubai alongside major global cities like London and New York, known for their iconic cabs (black and yellow, respectively).

Alfalasi described it as an “iconic car,” emphasizing that no similar taxi exists worldwide, “especially at airports.”
“This is a fully electric car, featuring cutting-edge technology and accommodations for people of determination (PoDs). Over the past 30 years, DTC has integrated all its expertise into this vehicle,” he stated.
The PV5, a five-seater, includes six built-in cameras and boasts a trunk with a 1,100-liter capacity.

Expansive Fleet
DTC leads in mobility services, holding a 45% market share in Dubai’s taxi sector. It operates around 6200 taxis, including pink taxis for families, women, and children, as well as vehicles for people of determination. The fleet also includes over 600 premium limousines.
Alfalasi noted that the number of new taxis to be deployed is still under consideration, but it will be substantial.
“The only feature missing is autonomy, which is our next goal,” he mentioned, adding that Kia, the car manufacturer, is exploring autonomous capabilities for the vehicle.
“This will align with our future operations,” he commented.
