Efforts to End the Gaza War and International Mediation

In statements to the Italian state television (RAI), it was clarified that the report included Defense Minister Guido Crosetto and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, noting that she ‘believes’ Roberto Cingolani, head of the Leonardo Group for Defense Industries, is also included in the report.

Egypt, Qatar, and the United States are mediating to end the war in Gaza, which will complete its second year tomorrow, leaving a huge toll of human and material losses.

The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt welcomed the steps taken in response to the proposal by US President Donald Trump, aimed at ending the war on Gaza, releasing all detainees, alive and dead, ceasing fire, and starting negotiations immediately to agree on implementation mechanisms.

Trump, accompanied by his special envoy Steve, presented a new plan aimed at ending the war in the Gaza Strip and defining the contours of governance after ‘eliminating’ the Hamas movement. This was during a meeting with Arab and Islamic leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings.

Observers indicate that the plan is based on ideas discussed in recent months, with updates developed by Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, and Tony Blair, the former British Prime Minister.

Since October 7, 2023, the war on Gaza has resulted in the death of more than 67,000 Palestinians, in addition to over 169,000 injured, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
