The Presidency confirmed in an official statement that “this attack constitutes a dangerous precedent and an unacceptable development, directly targeting the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, which plays a pivotal role in mediation efforts to achieve calm.” Egypt described this aggressive act as a “blatant violation of international law and principles of respecting the sovereignty of states and the sanctity of their territories.” Egypt renewed its full solidarity with the leadership and people of Qatar, calling on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to confront this serious Israeli violation.
Earlier today, the Israeli army stated: “The Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet, using the air force, targeted the leadership of Hamas with precision.” The Israeli army continued in its statement: “The army and Shin Bet will continue to work resolutely until the elimination of the Hamas organization responsible for October 7.”
Earlier, Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir threatened to eliminate Hamas leaders abroad, amid the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
