Egyptian “Cairo News” reported that hundreds of trucks loaded with aid have set off towards Gaza in a coordinated operation. The aid includes food supplies, medicines, medical equipment, baby formula, tents, as well as generators and water. These efforts are part of the official and popular initiatives by Egypt to provide urgent medical and food assistance to the residents of the sector, who are facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
The people of the Gaza Strip are suffering from unprecedented levels of hunger, with UN organizations warning of a famine outbreak and a rise in deaths due to malnutrition, especially among children, the sick, and those with disabilities.
From October 7, 2023, to August 5 of the current year, more than 61,000 Palestinians have been killed, in addition to approximately 151,000 injured, according to Ministry of Health data.
