During a United Nations conference on the ‘Two-State Solution,’ Madbouly stated from the UN podium: ‘Egypt will host an international conference for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip to mobilize the necessary funding for the Arab-Islamic reconstruction plan, once a ceasefire is reached.’ Madbouly emphasized ‘Egypt’s full condemnation of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Palestinian territories and throughout the region, culminating in the dangerous precedent of bombing the brotherly State of Qatar, which, along with Egypt, is participating in mediation efforts to end the aggression on Gaza and restore stability.’
The Egyptian Prime Minister noted that the adoption of the ‘New York Declaration’ by the General Assembly ‘represents a historic moment to renew the international community’s commitment to fulfilling the Palestinian people’s right to an independent state.’
The declaration, which supports the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, is the outcome of an international conference hosted by the United Nations and organized by Saudi Arabia and France last July to discuss the decades-long conflict.
It is worth mentioning that the two-state solution is a political proposal aiming to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by establishing two independent states: a Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967, borders alongside the State of Israel, in line with the vision of the international community.
