Egypt-US Coordination on Middle East Stability

This took place during President Sisi’s meeting with Commander of the US Central Command, General Brad Cooper, in the presence of Egyptian Minister of Defense and Military Production, General Abdel Majeed Saqr, US Ambassador to Cairo, Herro Mustafa, the Chief Defense Official at the US Embassy and Defense Attaché in Cairo, Colonel Jason Wimberly, and Senior Advisor to the Commander of US Central Command, Gabrielle Lamport.

The meeting witnessed an agreement on the necessity of continuing close coordination between Egypt and the United States to contain the escalation in the Middle East and to enhance efforts to maintain security, peace, and stability, especially in light of current security challenges, according to the Egyptian presidency.

The meeting also touched on developments in several countries in the region, emphasizing the importance of ongoing cooperation and coordination between Egypt and the US to contain regional escalation and support effective and sustainable political solutions to existing crises, contributing to the development and prosperity of the people in the region.

Additionally, the meeting addressed ways to enhance and develop the bilateral partnership between Egypt and the US in various fields, serving the interests of both the Egyptian and American peoples, alongside supporting joint coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

It is noted that General Brad Cooper, Commander of US Central Command, made his first visit to Israel last Saturday as the commander of the US Central Command, where he met with Israeli Chief of Staff, General Eyal Zamir. The two parties discussed regional security and the close military alliance between the United States and Israel. Admiral Cooper said during the visit, “The United States is firmly committed to Israel’s security. Together, we are committed to enhancing regional security and stability.”
