Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, the Director-General of the Sharjah International Film Festival and the Arts Foundation for Children and Youth, emphasized the organization’s commitment to broadening the intellectual and creative horizons of children. She expressed the Foundation’s mission to offer distinctive cultural experiences while supporting the artistic and media potential of young creators. The Foundation is dedicated to nurturing their imagination by providing essential tools that foster innovation and encourage self-expression in an environment that blends entertainment with creativity.
Recently, Sheikha Jawaher announced the conclusion of the “Fun” Foundation, a media exploration platform designed to cultivate the skills of children and youth aged 8 to 20, enabling them to develop their talents. Various educational programs promote opportunities for startups in media arts, covering areas from photography to film production, thereby enriching the local creative scene.
The educational initiatives of the “Fun” Foundation align with its commitments to advance media and visual arts, contributing to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and the ruler of Sharjah, as well as Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah. This vision aims to prepare a conscious and qualified generation to participate in both local and international cultural landscapes. The program, supervised by the Foundation from June to September 2024, witnessed remarkable participation from those aged 12 and older, featuring a series of specialized courses in film production and seminars focused on photography.
Moreover, the “Fantastic” summer camp organized by the Foundation in Sharjah included various artistic and creative workshops, enabling children to explore dramatic masterpieces, learn acting techniques, and understand physical and vocal expression. They also engaged in scene creation and character development, reflecting the Foundation’s goals of investing in children and granting them opportunities to articulate their ideas.
