My role in the corporate world includes Empowerment and Inclusion, two areas I am deeply passionate about. I believe culture is the cornerstone of empowerment. Understanding each other’s cultures enhances our ability to collaborate for success. This cannot be achieved without Inclusion.
The UAE is a cultural melting pot. How often have we heard and said this? It fills every UAE citizen and resident with pride, creating a nation that boasts a unique multicultural landscape. Central to this is the Emirati culture of hospitality, tradition, respect, and, as the 2026 theme suggests — family — values that resonate globally.
In the private sector, Emiratis serve as more than just employees; they are cultural ambassadors. In workplaces dominated by expatriates, they embody the nation’s values and heritage, bridging cultures, fostering respect, and showcasing Emirati identity on the global stage. For any organization, this role is crucial to fostering an inclusive and authentic environment.
Progress requires advocacy, and this holds true for Emirati professionals. Success relies not only on personal abilities but also on organizational support. Companies must go beyond quotas to achieve meaningful integration. Success is not about numbers; it’s about impact. Providing clear career paths from the start is vital, which I strive to implement through early career programs, mentorship, and cultural sensitivity training.
At VFS Global, our workplace is a platform for growth, not just employment. We aim to create an ecosystem that supports both professional and personal development. This includes offering international language training for global opportunities, showcasing Emirati talent worldwide, and fostering cultural understanding for seamless collaboration with expatriate colleagues. The result? A workplace where diversity fuels innovation.
The success of Emiratis in the private sector is a collective responsibility. As we celebrate our 54th Union Day and look ahead, let’s commit to championing inclusivity and Emirati values while Emiratis seize opportunities to lead and inspire. Together, we can create workplaces where diversity is not just recognized but harnessed for collective growth.
