The Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) in Sharjah is dedicated to monitoring endangered species and implements strict measures to ensure their protection.

In October 2024, EPAA carried out an operation in Al-Buhais, discovering endangered migratory birds and sound-emitting devices used to trap them. The devices were promptly confiscated.

Under Resolution No.12 of 2014, the circulation, possession, and use of devices emitting wild bird sounds are prohibited in Sharjah.
