This escalation comes after the participation of two military divisions in the operation that began about a week ago, with each division consisting of between 10,000 and 15,000 soldiers. The statement confirmed that operations will continue in the sector “as long as necessary to protect Israeli citizens.”
Israel continues its war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, which has resulted in the death of about 64,000 Palestinians and around 163,000 injuries. It has also conducted repeated airstrikes on several countries in the region, most notably Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Qatar, in addition to its war on Iran which lasted 12 days.
Earlier today, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer wrote on the platform “X,” “To restore hope for peace for Palestinians and Israelis and achieve a two-state solution, the United Kingdom officially recognizes the State of Palestine.” It is worth mentioning that the two-state solution is a political proposal aimed at resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by establishing two independent states: a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, alongside an Israeli state, which aligns with the international community’s vision.
