“We apologize for the delays caused by factors beyond our control,” the airline added.
Delay Cause
According to Reuters, Collins Aerospace, a supplier of check-in systems for multiple airlines globally, faces technical issues potentially delaying departures, as noted by London’s Heathrow Airport.
Brussels Airport reported, “The attack has disabled automated systems, forcing manual check-in and boarding, significantly impacting flight schedules with delays and cancellations. The service provider is actively resolving the issue.” Passengers scheduled for flights on Saturday were advised to confirm travel arrangements before heading to the airport.
Frankfurt and Zurich airports were not affected, according to spokespeople. Dubai-based Emirates also reported minimal impact on operations.
Indian carrier Air India, with a large UAE customer base, noted potential delays at Heathrow and advised passengers to complete web check-in prior to arriving at the airport.
