The mission stated in a statement that “this decision taken by the European Commission, which received support from all European Union member states in the Visa Committee, as evidenced by its press release, is considered discriminatory in nature.” The diplomatic mission believes that this decision is a direct refutation of the hypocritical statements previously made by representatives of the European Union, stating that the “restrictive measures” imposed by the EU. The European Commission announced last Friday the imposition of restrictions on issuing multiple-entry Schengen visas to European Union countries for Russian citizens. A statement from them said: “From now on, Russian citizens will not be able to obtain multiple-entry visas. This means that Russian citizens will have to apply for a new visa each time they plan a trip to the EU, allowing for thorough and repeated checks of applicants to reduce any potential security risks.”
