F-35 Aircraft Upgrades: TR-3 and Block-4

The deal, as revealed by Western media, includes the provision of the “TR-3” program in the first phase, followed by the provision of “Block-4” technologies in the second phase. The upgrades aimed at the aircraft are intended to enhance computing, sensors, radars, and memory, but they will not involve any fundamental changes to the aircraft’s structure. The new upgrades will allow advanced operational capabilities such as integrating modern weapons and equipment not available in previous versions. So far, about 200 “F-35” aircraft equipped with “TR-3” systems have been delivered to various countries, and Israel is expected to benefit from the updates through the development of software and hardware for the “Adir” jets, in collaboration with Lockheed Martin. The modifications included the possibility of loading “JDAM” bombs on external suspension points of the aircraft, according to media sources that indicated the update implementation date might be in July.
