Frustration Mounts Over Jaipur-Dubai Flight Disruptions

Frustration is growing among passengers traveling from Jaipur to Dubai due to frequent delays and last-minute cancellations, leaving many stranded and upset with the two airlines on this busy route.

On Tuesday, October 7, SpiceJet’s flight SG-57, set to depart Jaipur International Airport at 9:30 AM, was initially delayed by 14 hours and then cancelled late in the evening, citing “operational reasons.” This decision angered travelers who had been at the terminal since morning.

“We came to Jaipur from different cities to catch this flight, only to find out it’s delayed and then cancelled,” one affected passenger said. “There were no arrangements for food or accommodation.”

Numerous passengers reportedly confronted airline staff at Terminal 1, requesting accommodation and meals, but no solutions were provided. Many had already spent the whole day at the airport before discovering the flight would not operate.

This latest disturbance follows a recent report by Khaleej Times on similar delays and cancellations on the Jaipur–Dubai route. On October 5, Air India Express passengers endured four consecutive days of flight chaos as the morning service IX-195, scheduled for 5:55 AM, faced repeated delays due to “operational reasons.”

Previous disruptions included a last-minute cancellation on September 29, when no aircraft was available because the inbound Dubai–Jaipur flight did not arrive. On September 25, the same service was grounded due to a technical issue with the incoming aircraft, forcing passengers to wait hours for a replacement plane.

Flight-tracking websites reveal that both SpiceJet and Air India Express have struggled to maintain schedules on this route, which serves thousands of workers and tourists monthly. Past incidents included a Dubai-bound flight aborted moments before take-off after cockpit warnings prompted the pilot to return the aircraft to the terminal.

The repeated cancellations have unsettled travelers, with many complaining of missed connections and increasing uncertainty on what is considered one of Rajasthan’s most reliable international routes.

Khaleej Times previously reached out to Air India Express for a response to these repeated disruptions but received no reply. SpiceJet has also not commented on the latest cancellation.
