The discussion focused on the situation in the Gaza Strip, where Minister Abdel Aati emphasized the necessity of halting Israeli military operations, which are causing catastrophic humanitarian consequences for the residents of the area. He warned against Israeli plans to displace Palestinians, considering them a direct threat to regional security and an attempt to resolve the Palestinian issue. He stated that Egypt firmly rejects any attempts at displacement under any pretext, affirming the need for Palestinians to remain on their land.
He also called for an immediate ceasefire to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid and restore stability.
Regarding the Iranian nuclear issue, the two parties discussed the recent agreement between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency in Cairo on September 9, which represents a step towards resuming cooperation after the tensions caused by Israeli aggression against Iran. Abdel Aati informed the US envoy of the latest communications with the Iranian side, stressing Egypt’s efforts to de-escalate, delay the implementation of UN sanctions, and support the resumption of negotiations between Iran and the United States.
