Cairo – Sputnik. The network stated: “Al Jazeera correspondents Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qureiqa were martyred due to an Israeli bombing on their tent.” It added that the bombing resulted in the death of five people, including photographers Ibrahim Zahir and Mohammed Noufal in Gaza.
In a related context, the Israeli army announced, on Sunday evening, the targeting of Al Jazeera channel correspondent Anas Al-Sharif, accusing him of leading a cell affiliated with the Palestinian Hamas movement. The Israeli army stated in a statement, “A short while ago, in the city of Gaza, the Israeli army targeted the terrorist Anas Al-Sharif, who impersonated a journalist for Al Jazeera network.”
It added, “Anas Al-Sharif was a leader of a terrorist cell in the terrorist Hamas movement and was responsible for launching rockets at Israeli civilians and Israeli army soldiers.”
The statement continued, “The Israeli army previously revealed intelligence information and numerous documents found in the Gaza Strip, confirming his military affiliation with Hamas. These documents again confirm his involvement in terrorist activities, which Al Jazeera tried to disavow.”
