Gaza’s health authority stated in a statement that “we are only a few days away from hospitals ceasing operations due to fuel depletion,” stressing that “a few days may carry with them scenes of halting essential departments, which means exacerbating the health crisis and exposing the lives of patients and the wounded to certain death.” The statement added that “technical and engineering procedures to schedule operating periods have become ineffective with the stoppage of fuel supplies,” renewing the urgent call to all concerned parties to intervene to ensure the enhancement of fuel stocks in hospitals to avoid an unpredictable disaster.

Yesterday, Monday, the Gaza Strip witnessed a series of airstrikes and artillery shelling by Israeli forces on residential and civilian areas in Gaza City and the central sector. The “Safa” agency reported that an Israeli airstrike targeted an area east of Deir al-Balah, resulting in injuries and material damage to neighboring houses. The agency confirmed a series of Israeli airstrikes around Al-Quds Open University in the Al-Nasr neighborhood northwest of the city. Follow-up by the agency also noted heavy gunfire from Israeli army vehicles near the Jordanian hospital in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood west of Gaza City.

The Israeli army announced the reinforcement of all fronts in preparation for the Jewish New Year holiday, based on the assessment of the situation on several fronts. According to its statement, dozens of battalions will be on alert to train fighters from various army units on defensive and offensive missions in different sectors. The statement noted that it would enhance its ground, naval, and air forces, as well as all combat systems, throughout the country to ensure full readiness during the coming period.

Israel continues its war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, a conflict that has claimed the lives of about 64,000 Palestinians and injured about 163,000. It has also conducted repeated airstrikes on several countries in the region, most notably Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Qatar, in addition to its 12-day war on Iran.
