Ragusa said via the platform ‘X’: ‘A vehicle collided with Mayor Giuliani’s car from behind at high speed, and he was taken to a nearby medical center.’ He added, ‘He was diagnosed with a fracture in one of his thoracic vertebrae, along with injuries to his left arm and lower leg.’ He noted that Giuliani was assisting a domestic violence victim before the accident occurred. Ragusa pointed out that Giuliani, who served as the mayor of New York from 1994 to 2001, is now recovering and in good spirits.
The New Hampshire police confirmed that they were investigating a report of domestic violence when they noticed the accident on the other side of the road, indicating that ‘both cars veered into the median and suffered significant damage as a result of the collision.’ The police explained that all the injured were taken to the hospital and that their injuries are not life-threatening. The identity of the driver responsible for the accident has been determined, but no charges have been filed yet, and the investigation is still ongoing.
Giuliani became known as ‘America’s Mayor’ after leading New York City during the September 11, 2001 attacks, and he was first elected mayor of the city in 1993. In 2008, he made an unsuccessful bid for the U.S. presidency. Later, he became an advisor and then personal attorney to former President Donald Trump, participating in his 2016 campaign and joining his legal team in 2018, remaining part of it until the 2020 elections. After Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 elections, Giuliani promoted unsubstantiated claims about election ‘theft.’ Earlier this year, he reached a preliminary settlement with two former election workers who were awarded $148 million in damages after succeeding in a defamation lawsuit they filed against him due to false claims of election fraud.
