This came during the government meeting on Tuesday to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip following the ceasefire, as reported by the Palestinian news agency ‘Wafa.’ The agency noted that the meeting discussed preparations for the conference scheduled to be hosted by Egypt next November.
It is noteworthy that the ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 10th, following negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, with mediation by Egypt, Qatar, the United States, and Turkey.
On the 13th of the same month, Egypt and the United States chaired the ‘Peace Summit’ in the Egyptian city of Sharm El Sheikh, where both countries, along with Turkey and Qatar, signed the agreement as guarantor states.
The agreement included a ceasefire and the entry of aid into the sector, which had experienced a war lasting over two years, resulting in about 68,000 Palestinian deaths and approximately 170,000 injuries.
