The ministry has decided to close the hall in preparation for transferring the last artifacts of the Golden King to the Grand Egyptian Museum, which will officially open on November 1st, according to a statement from the ministry. The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Egyptian Antiquities, Mohamed Ismail Khaled, explained that the closure of the hall will only apply to the belongings of Tutankhamun, while the Tahrir Museum will continue to welcome its visitors as usual.
Khaled emphasized that displaying the complete collection of the young king, which includes more than five thousand artifacts, for the first time in a single hall at the Grand Museum, represents an unprecedented global event in the history of antiquities and museums.
The statement noted that the Grand Egyptian Museum will close its doors to visitors starting October 15th to finalize logistical and organizational preparations, with public visits commencing on November 4th, coinciding with the 103rd anniversary of the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb.
