The movement confirmed in a statement its readiness to proceed with a comprehensive deal that includes the release of all Israeli prisoners it holds, in exchange for the release of an agreed number of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. According to the movement, the agreement includes halting the war, a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the sector, opening crossings to meet the sector’s needs, and starting the reconstruction process.
US President Donald Trump demanded today, Wednesday, that the “Hamas” movement immediately release the twenty Israeli hostages and prisoners. President Trump said, “Tell them to immediately return all twenty hostages (not 2 or 5 or 7), and everything will change quickly,” adding, “The war will end.”
Israel resumed its bombing of the Gaza Strip on March 18, after a nearly two-month hiatus, specifically since the ceasefire agreement with Hamas began on January 19, following stalled negotiations to extend the first phase of the agreement or move to the second phase. The ceasefire agreement between Israel and “Hamas” was supposed to continue once the first phase was extended, which ended on March 1, or enter its second phase, but disagreements between Israel and “Hamas” over the next steps prevented that.
Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed Moscow’s concern over the escalation in the Gaza Strip and the civilian casualties, confirming that Moscow is closely monitoring the situation and looking forward to returning to the path of peace.
