Hrithik Roshan Seeks Legal Protection for Personality

Recently, Hrithik Roshan joined several Bollywood stars, like singer Kumar Sanu, in approaching the Delhi High Court to protect their personality and publicity rights.

Roshan has filed a case to defend his name, image, voice, and other attributes from unauthorized commercial use and exploitation.

The case is scheduled for a hearing on Wednesday by Justice Manmeet Pritam Arora.

The plea targets various known and unknown entities, including John Does, accused of misusing the actor’s persona for profit without permission. Roshan seeks an injunction to stop such abuse and guard his identity from online or advertising exploitation.

Justice Arora will also review a similar case by Kumar Sanu, claiming that altered videos and defamatory content using his identity are spreading online.

Earlier, the Court had asked Meta and Google why URLs with “morphed videos” and “offensive language” haven’t been removed by their grievance officers.

Concerns about personality rights and online misuse are increasingly under legal examination. Recently, while protecting actor Nagarjuna’s rights, the Court highlighted AI’s potential to multiply misleading content, risking long-term harm to public figures’ reputations.

Last month, the Court issued similar protection orders for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, preventing unauthorized online use of their identities.

Hrithik Roshan’s legal action highlights the rising trend of celebrities seeking court intervention to protect their digital identities from AI and social media misuse. (ANI)
