The Israeli Channel Seven reported on Thursday that a successful hacking operation was carried out by a group of hackers who managed to obtain architectural drawings, maps, and photos of a highly secretive military base in central Israel. The channel described it as a “severe security failure” after the hackers succeeded in publishing “highly confidential” images and maps from the military base on Instagram, making them accessible to everyone.
The channel’s website indicated that some of the leaked photos on the social media platform included aspects of recent training for military leaders at the base on how to face different scenarios. The hacking operation included publishing images of the offices of Israeli leaders with relatively high-resolution plans, including architectural drawings of the base with details of the buildings, including entrances, exits, and interior designs.
The channel noted that the hacking operation included images of military training in which senior leaders participated, focusing on “various extreme scenarios.” It emphasized that the Israeli army acknowledged the “intelligence security failure” and would review the incident and address it immediately by the concerned authorities.
It was mentioned that the failed intelligence case has been referred to the Israeli army’s Information Security Department to examine the situation and take additional steps if necessary.
