The ministry reported that 51 Palestinians have died and 369 were injured in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours. It added that a number of victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense teams are currently unable to reach them. Since March 2nd, Israel has been preventing the entry of relief, food, and medical aid into the Strip, which the citizens of the region rely on entirely. For weeks, distribution points for aid in Rafah and central Gaza have been targeted, according to Palestinian media sources.
The UNRWA Commissioner-General, Philippe Lazzarini, previously reported that at least 100 children have died due to malnutrition and hunger in Gaza, amidst the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region. He condemned the deliberate actions aimed at marginalizing the agency’s role in providing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, describing them as an attempt at collective pressure and punishment of Palestinians for continuing to live in the area.
