Ever dreamed of battling Demogorgons in the Upside Down, the eerie realm from Stranger Things? At Stranger Things: The Experience, you can dive deep into the Netflix series’ world, interacting with talented actors to escape the simulated threats of the Demogorgons.
Initially, guests are split into yellow, red, and blue teams, each led by a team leader. The adventure begins at Hawkins Lab, where a “doctor” evaluates which team members possess telekinetic powers, reminiscent of Eleven, the show’s protagonist. The doctor then invites each team to explore their newfound abilities.
Guests, either with outstretched arms or fingers touching their temples, focus on a soda can on the table. Amid suspense, the can crumples as if by magic. Another can soars across the table, giving a thrilling sense of superhuman powers.

Afterwards, guests move to the systems analysis room, akin to a security operation center, with screens monitoring various labs in Hawkins. The main characters appear on these screens, guiding teams to open the portal door to the Upside Down.
The Experience intensifies as teams attempt telekinetic tricks to unlock it, while Demogorgons “assault” lab staff, visible through monitors and shadows in the corridors. Bloodstains mark the door, and fleeting views of the creatures make it seem they’re just outside.

Once the portal opens, guests step into the haunting, dark realm of the Upside Down, donning 3D glasses for an enhanced experience. A live actress as Eleven combats Vecna, the main villain, while teams help save Max using their powers. The experience concludes with the defeat of the monsters and the dark forest turning bright again.

At the exit, fans of Stranger Things will spot familiar locations and eateries from the show, such as ‘Scoops Ahoy’ and Will Byers’ iconic living room with string lights and painted letters.

Liam Findlay, CEO of Miral Destinations, shared with Khaleej Times that constructing the large, tent-style venue took about three weeks. The experience runs from November 14 to February 15, coinciding with the much-anticipated fifth and final season of the show, debuting on November 26.
