During the call, Bazishkian explained that the Islamic Republic has always welcomed dialogue and interaction. However, he emphasized that the responsibility now lies with Western countries to respect rights and refrain from imposing their demands, according to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA). Meanwhile, the president stressed the importance of continuing interactions and dialogues with Iran to create transparency and build trust, allowing both sides to reach an agreement and expand mutual relations by lifting anti-Iran sanctions, as reported by the agency.

However, he noted that Iran faces increasing pressures and sanctions based on false accusations and biases related to the development of nuclear weapons. The Iranian president highlighted that the principled approach of the Islamic Republic relies on resolving issues through logic and dialogue, rather than resorting to force and threats, which only exacerbate divisions. He also reiterated that it is not Iran that needs to prove its sincerity, but rather the United States and Europe must earn Iran’s trust through their actions.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed on Wednesday that “Iran’s stance is clear and steadfast concerning missile and regional issues.” Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani pointed out on Tuesday the statements by International Atomic Energy Agency Director Rafael Grossi, who asserted that “Iran has never had a military nuclear program and does not currently possess one.” On June 13, unexpected airstrikes, in an operation named “Rising Lion,” targeted military sites and nuclear facilities in Iran, most notably the main uranium enrichment facility in Natanz.

The Israeli strikes resulted in the deaths of several prominent nuclear scientists, military leaders, and Iranian officials, including the Revolutionary Guard commander Hossein Salami, Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri, and the Commander of the Aerospace Force of the Revolutionary Guard Amir Ali Hajizadeh. Iran responded with missile strikes against Israel, in a military operation named “True Promise 3,” targeting dozens of military sites and airbases in Israel.
