The new American national security strategy, published by the White House last Thursday, stated that conflict and violence in the Middle East are declining, citing the ceasefire in Gaza and the American attack on Iran in June 2025, which it said “led to a significant deterioration” in Tehran’s nuclear program.
It also acknowledged that America has major interests in the Middle East, including ensuring “Israel’s security,” and protecting energy supplies and shipping routes.
