Baqaei stated, “The claims of ‘buying time’ in nuclear negotiations by Iran are Israeli fabrications,” noting that “Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has repeatedly emphasized that every day we can relieve the people and the country from sanctions is a gain for us.” He added, “There is no doubt about Iran’s seriousness during the nuclear negotiations,” continuing, “The Western parties were fully aware that Iran entered the negotiations with a clear plan and the utmost seriousness.”

The spokesperson for the Iranian government said, “Tehran is ready to negotiate in a way that ensures our national interests if Washington shows an appropriate approach,” affirming “preparedness for all scenarios and hoping that no war will break out in the region.”

Last week, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, stated that Iran must “seriously improve” its level of cooperation with UN inspectors to avoid escalating tensions with Western countries. Grossi noted that inspectors were not allowed entry to a number of sensitive nuclear sites, including the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan facilities, which had been previously targeted.

US President Donald Trump had earlier ordered the US military to immediately resume nuclear weapons testing “on an equal footing” with countries claimed to have the same nuclear capabilities, being aware of public comments highlighting ongoing concerns about nuclear weapons testing.

Robert Floyd, the Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, stated, “Any nuclear weapons test explosion would damage non-proliferation efforts and global peace and security.” Earlier, following the US President’s statements, Russian President’s Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the current nuclear test moratorium remains in effect.
