The Iranian news agency “Mehr” reported on Wednesday that the Iranian Ministry of Security has revealed secret documents and photos of Israeli nuclear facilities. A documentary film titled “Spider’s Nest,” produced by an elite Iranian intelligence team, is being aired on Channel One. The ministry also released secret documents related to American and European scientists, obtained through a complex security operation carried out months ago, which is considered the country’s greatest security achievement against Israel.
The agency quoted Iranian Security Minister Esmail Khatib in an interview with Iranian state television, stating that these documents include important information on Israel’s nuclear, military, and scientific projects, including old and ongoing armament projects, nuclear weapons development programs, and joint projects with the United States and some European countries. The documents also list the names of researchers and scientists involved in these projects and the addresses of concerned facilities and companies.
Minister Khatib said that “Iranian security forces executed one of the most complex multi-layered intelligence operations, managing to delve deep and extract secret information in various nuclear, military, scientific, and intelligence fields.” He added that “this achievement represents a new dimension of the Zionist regime’s and its intelligence apparatus’s failure against Iran’s security capabilities,” noting that the next stage is “to process this information and uncover the relationships between elements and human and organizational networks linked to Israeli nuclear projects inside and outside the occupied territories,” emphasizing that “its importance is no less than the breach itself.”
The Iranian minister explained that “the Iranian people have always been guardians of the country’s independence and unity, and that the West and Zionists have been enemies not only of Iran but also of many peoples and of rights, justice, and humanity.” Among the information released by the Iranian Ministry of Security is the residence of Yisrael Katz, as well as photos of scientists involved in the Israeli nuclear bomb project, and personal photos of Rafael Grossi, Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Esmail Khatib continued: “This major infiltration is the result of months of complex design, deployment of operational layers, and successful execution of multiple stages of intelligence operations at the heart of the enemy’s structure. Only a small part of this information has been officially released, and other dimensions will be announced in due course in accordance with national interests.”
Tensions have escalated since the 12-day war between Iran and Israel last June, which led to disruptions and prompted Iran to suspend its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency. During his previous term, Trump attempted to activate the so-called “snapback mechanism” of sanctions in 2020 but failed due to his country’s unilateral withdrawal from the agreement two years prior. Despite repeated efforts by European powers to revive the 2015 agreement through negotiations, affirming that they “have a clear legal basis” to activate the mechanism, Iran does not agree with this view and has threatened to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty if the “snapback mechanism” is activated.
