Security forces managed to “dismantle a group of seven non-Iranian members who infiltrated through the eastern borders in recent days with the aim of carrying out a dangerous attack,” according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency. The agency confirmed that “the terrorist team was completely destroyed” after intense armed clashes that lasted for hours.
The security forces seized advanced weapons from the cell, including RPG-7 launchers, bombs, explosive vests, communication devices, and machine guns. Initial investigations revealed that the cell had received special training and conducted simulation exercises on a model of the targeted facility, which are indicators of ‘Mossad fingerprints’ in training and operational methods, according to the agency.
Iranian intelligence continues its investigations to determine the identity of the members and uncover more evidence. The Public Relations Department of the headquarters revealed details of the operations, which were carried out in cooperation with intelligence in the country, stating that “two terrorist hideouts were identified and dismantled in the northern and southern regions of the province,” according to Tasnim News Agency.
A statement from the headquarters explained that “security forces found about 25 kilograms of explosive materials during house searches in the city of Chabahar, in addition to bombs ready for detonation, which were hidden in preparation for carrying out terrorist operations.”
