This morning, Thursday, IRNA confirmed that President Bazshkyan’s statements came during a meeting on educational justice development in Zanjan Province, northwestern Iran. During this meeting, he praised the army, the Revolutionary Guards, the Basij, and the popular forces in his country. The Iranian president stated that the heroic defense exhibited by the people, the military, and security forces, as well as our heroes working in the missile field over the past 12 days, contributed to making history. These actions have been a source of pride and honor for us and all Muslims in the region.
Bazshkyan affirmed that the army, the Revolutionary Guards, the Basij, and the popular forces have given most of the martyrs in defense of the homeland. Despite all the threats and pressures exerted by the enemies, these dear ones performed excellently and defeated the Zionist entity with its Iron Dome and America with all its advanced military equipment.
On June 13th, Israel launched unexpected airstrikes in an operation named “Rising Lion,” targeting military sites and nuclear facilities in Iran, primarily the main uranium enrichment facility in Natanz. The Israeli strikes resulted in the deaths of several nuclear scientists, prominent military leaders, and Iranian officials, most notably the Revolutionary Guards commander Hussein Salami, Chief of Staff of the Army Mohammad Bagheri, and the Revolutionary Guards’ Air and Space Force commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh.
Iran responded with missile strikes against Israel in a military operation called “The True Promise 3,” targeting dozens of military sites and airbases in Israel, asserting that the operation would continue as long as necessary. The United States also launched an attack on three Iranian nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan on the night of June 22nd. According to Washington, “the attack aimed to destroy or severely weaken the Iranian nuclear program.”
A few days later, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards announced a response to the United States by striking the American “Al-Udeid” base in Qatar.
