During a press conference in the Iraqi parliament, Al-Saadi emphasized that Iraq has not relinquished the Khor and described the claims to that effect as “misleading and baseless.” He warned against attempts to exploit the issue to incite public unrest or disrupt public order, affirming that Iraq’s stance is firm in defending its sovereignty, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He pointed out that the head of the Supreme Judicial Council officially denied any concession of Iraq’s rights in this area. He added that the misinformation campaigns based on distorted information aim to achieve illegitimate gains, stressing that the issue concerns national sovereignty and should not be politically manipulated.
