Israel and US Work on Agreement to End War

The “Jerusalem Post” reported that Steve Witkoff, the U.S. President’s special envoy, informed the families of the Israeli hostages that Israel and the United States are currently working on a framework agreement to end the war and release the prisoners. Hamas is now demanding the entry of hundreds of trucks into the Gaza Strip daily as a precondition for returning to the negotiation table, according to a source familiar with the details of the negotiations cited by the newspaper.

According to the newspaper, this message was conveyed to mediators in recent days as part of Hamas’s new policy of refusing to engage with Israel unless there is a significant improvement in the humanitarian situation. After Witkoff’s visit, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is holding discussions about the future of the conflict in the Gaza Strip. A broader meeting on this topic is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday.

The Israeli war has resulted in more than 209,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, over 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people and a famine that claimed many lives, according to “WAFA”.
