The Israeli government coordination unit, overseeing the flow of aid, stated in a release that “the United Nations and international organizations will undertake the task of delivering aid to the Gaza Strip,” following the closure of the crossing for two months.

Last Monday, the Palestinian Hamas movement demanded that mediators and guarantors of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip compel Israel to open the “Zikim” crossing to allow humanitarian and relief aid through Jordan, without restrictions or delays.

In a statement, the movement called on mediators, guarantors, states, and international organizations to act swiftly to ensure “the opening of the Zikim crossing for the entry of humanitarian and relief aid through the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan without any restrictions or delays.”

It is noteworthy that on October 9, 2025, U.S. President Donald announced that Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement had reached an agreement to implement the first phase of the “Peace Plan,” aimed at ending the two-year armed conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Trump’s plan, presented on September 29, 2025, includes 20 provisions, the most prominent being an immediate ceasefire in exchange for the release of hostages within 72 hours and the formation of a technocratic administration under international supervision led by Trump himself, without the participation of “” or other Palestinian factions in governance.
