Israel Issues Travel Safety Warnings Amid Terror Threats

A statement from the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu added that “this tightening comes in light of the increasing activity of terrorist organizations these days, aiming to harm Israel.” Estimates indicate a growing motivation for retaliation following the “People Like a Lion” operation last month, which targeted senior Iranian military leaders and was an attempt to thwart the Iranian nuclear project.

The warning clarified that this threat does not include transit flights, but it is recommended to stay inside the airport until departure without leaving it. Authorities have called for a series of precautions, notably avoiding displaying Israeli symbols or speaking Hebrew publicly, and refraining from participating in public events or being in markets and isolated areas.

They also advised staying in well-secured areas and avoiding interactions with strangers or sharing personal information online or on social media. The security recommendations emphasized the need to minimize personal documents while traveling, adhere to local security instructions, and provide travel details to first-degree relatives in Israel.

They also requested not to post photos or information about the visit in real-time and not to discuss security or military backgrounds with unknown parties. Furthermore, they urged caution against online fraud attempts, stressing the importance of verifying the identity of any contacting party online and not opening files or sending personal data without ensuring credibility.
