He continued, ‘We are currently completing preparations to expand the offensive operation in the Gaza Strip, which will lead to the collapse of Hamas’s authoritative and military capabilities in the sector.’ He continued, ‘The battle will end when we ensure our security and future,’ adding, ‘The ongoing war in the south is one of the toughest and most complex we have fought.’ He continued, ‘The actions and achievements of the Defense Army since October 7, 2023, especially within the framework of Operation ‘Rising Lion’, have led to noticeable changes in the Middle East,’ noting that some of these changes represent opportunities while others require intensified combat readiness.’ Since October 7, 2023, until August 11, the war on Gaza has caused the death of more than 61,000 Palestinians, in addition to about 154,000 injured, according to Palestinian Ministry of Health data. Despite this, Israel continues its military operations and recently announced the approval of a plan to fully occupy the sector, as its officials, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, continue to talk about the claims of ‘Greater Israel’, a term that includes occupying the remaining Palestinian territories in addition to other occupations. Earlier today, Egypt warned of what it described as ‘Israeli arrogance’, saying it would not achieve security or stability for the countries in the region, including Israel itself. A statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized Cairo’s categorical rejection of the provocative statements issued by Israeli government officials. Egypt reiterated its warning to Israel against ‘being led by illusory beliefs of liquidating or realizing what is called ‘Greater Israel”, affirming that ‘any attempt to obliterate Palestinian rights through displacement or land confiscation is doomed to failure.’
