The conference is organized through collaboration between the Joint Committee on Historical Education under the Russian Presidency, the Government of the Altai Republic, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Military Historical Society, the Russian organization ‘Knowledge,’ and the Russian Historical Society.
In October of last year, the first international scientific and practical conference titled ‘The Original Homeland of the Turks: Towards a History of the Birth of Turkish Civilization’ was inaugurated in Gorno-Altaisk.
The event aimed to understand the broad prospects for cooperation and to develop a comprehensive idea of the position of Russian Altai in the development of Turkish peoples. Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a welcoming address to the conference participants, noting that the languages, traditions, and original lifestyles of the Turkish peoples are a significant part of Russia’s historical heritage as a unique national civilization.
