This was stated in a statement published by the Israeli army spokesman on the “X” website today, Thursday, titled “The Defense Army Reveals a New Image of”. The statement said, “The Defense Army and the Shin Bet have eliminated the spokesman for the wing,” noting that a document was found from the Gaza Strip allegedly showing Abu Ubaida, Mohammed Deif, the military wing leader of Hamas, and Rafiq Salama, the commander of the Khan Younis Brigade. According to the alleged image, the Israeli army confirms that Abu Ubaida held a leadership position in Hamas’ operations leadership. On August 30, the assassination of “Abu Ubaida,” the spokesman for the “Al-Qassam Brigades,” the military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement, was announced. The next day, the Israeli Defense Minister confirmed the operation, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated that Israel was waiting for Hamas’ announcement, creating ambiguity about the fate of “Abu Ubaida,” whom Palestinians call “the masked one.”
