A statement from the spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichay Adraee, clarified that the attacks were conducted under the leadership of the Southern Command and focused on military infrastructures and towers and buildings used by Hamas for operational purposes. These included reconnaissance and sniper sites, weapons stores, and tunnels. He noted that the raids were distributed in the neighborhoods of Al-Daraj, Al-Tuffah, and Al-Furqan, and later expanded to include the beach area and other parts of Gaza, stressing that measures were taken to minimize civilian injuries.

Adraee added that the Israeli army will continue to intensify attacks based on accurate intelligence, aiming to destroy Hamas’s infrastructure and reduce its operational capabilities as part of preparing for the next phase of the operation. It is noted that the Israeli plan to control the city involves forcibly displacing about one million Palestinians to the southern part of the sector, which has caused widespread international criticism of Israel, which continued its preparations to implement the plan despite all warnings.

The residents of the Gaza Strip suffer from unprecedented levels of hunger, with UN organizations warning of the spread of famine and an increase in deaths resulting from malnutrition, especially among children, the sick, and the disabled. From October 7, 2023, until August 21, 2025, the war on Gaza resulted in the death of about 62,000 Palestinians, in addition to about 157,000 injuries, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.

For his part, the spokesperson for the Russian presidency, Dmitry Peskov, expressed Moscow’s concern over the escalation in the Gaza Strip and the casualties of civilians, confirming that Moscow is closely monitoring the situation and looks forward to returning to the path of peace.
