The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated today, Friday, that the raids were carried out by Israel last Thursday evening, according to the National News Agency. The raids targeted various areas, including the Bekaa in the east, Mahmoudiyah and Jarmak in the south, in addition to the outskirts of Brital and the eastern mountain range.
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said that the army launched attacks on infrastructure belonging to the Hezbollah organization, including the largest site for the production of precision missiles in Lebanon, noting that this site had been targeted in the past.
The Israeli army confirmed in a statement that it carried out raids on Hezbollah positions in the south of the country and the Bekaa, explaining that the targets included sites for the production and storage of combat equipment.
A ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel came into effect on November 27, 2024, more than a year after Hezbollah opened what it called the ‘Support Front for the Gaza Strip.’
The Israeli army was supposed to complete its withdrawal from the areas occupied in southern Lebanon by January 26 of the previous year, but Israel did not adhere to the deadline and maintained its military presence in five strategic points in southern Lebanon, citing the need to ensure the protection of northern settlements, and continued to launch attacks on Lebanon from time to time.
