The ministry clarified that the national aid agency ‘MASHAV,’ affiliated with it, will lead this initiative under the supervision of Foreign Minister Gideon, according to Israeli media. ‘MASHAV’ will collaborate in this effort with the non-governmental organization ‘IsraAid,’ which is active in South Sudan, to ensure the effective and rapid distribution of aid to those affected. This announcement comes at a time when South Sudan is facing significant health and environmental challenges, with a cholera outbreak threatening the lives of thousands amid a severe shortage of essential resources.
Israeli Channel 12 reported last Wednesday that Israel is conducting talks with South Sudan as part of its plans to relocate Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to other countries. It is noted that Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar met about three weeks ago with South Sudan’s Foreign Minister, Mayiik Ayii Deng, and stated that ‘Israel continues to strengthen ties with South Sudan.’
Human rights organizations and most of the international community have expressed their opposition to these plans, considering them a scheme for forced displacement and a violation of international law.
