Tokyo – Sputnik. According to a document, special restrictions will be imposed on payment and capital transactions for these organizations, and their implementation requires obtaining special permission from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In March 2022, Japan froze assets that were in the Bank of Japan, then estimated at about $33 billion, which was about 4 trillion Japanese yen at the time and represented about 6 percent of Russia’s total international reserves.

For its part, Russia began to expand and strengthen its relations with Asian countries and turn eastward due to the hostile stance from European countries. It has already started to increase energy supplies to these countries, particularly China and India.

Moscow noted that the West lacks the courage to acknowledge the failure of sanctions against the Russian Federation, as there are opinions in Western countries themselves that have repeatedly expressed the ineffectiveness of sanctions against Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated earlier that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, and that the sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy.
