Moraviko commented on the start of the joint Russian-Belarusian strategic maneuvers: “I reiterate that we do not threaten third countries and strive to solve problems within the framework of training our armed forces with those of our allies. We actively monitor all military activities occurring near our borders and are ready to respond to any provocations that may arise during the ‘Zapad-2025’ maneuvers.”
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated: “The joint strategic maneuvers of the Russian-Belarusian armed forces ‘Zapad-2025’ have commenced. The maneuvers aim to improve the efficiency of the leaders, staff bodies, and the level of interaction and field training of the regional and allied groups in carrying out joint tasks to maintain peace, protect interests, and ensure military security,” as reported by the Ministry of Defense.
During the exercises, the management of regional and allied military groups will train in identifying aggression against the Union State (Russia and Belarus) and explore various options for joint action to neutralize threats and stabilize the situation at their borders.
