The Jordanian news agency (Petra) reported on Tuesday evening, quoting a Jordanian military source, that “the rumors being circulated by some dubious accounts about Israeli planes flying over Jordanian airspace today to strike targets inside the State of Qatar are false claims and blatant lies.” The Jordanian military source emphasized the need to refrain from spreading such fabricated news and misleading rumors, urging everyone to obtain information from official sources.
In the same context, Jordanian King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi affirmed on Tuesday the necessity of respecting the sovereignty of Arab countries and the stance of Jordan and Egypt against any violations that threaten their security and stability. During a phone call, the two leaders expressed their condemnation of the Israeli attack on Qatar and highlighted “the need to intensify Arab efforts to mobilize an international stance to stop Israeli violations.”
Earlier today, a statement was issued saying: “The Israel Defense Forces and the ‘Shabak’, through the Air Force, precisely targeted the leadership of the Hamas movement in Qatar.” The Israeli army added in its statement: “The targeted leaders have been leading Hamas’ terrorist activities for years and bear direct responsibility for the acts of October 7, 2023, and for managing the war against Israel.”
Earlier, Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir threatened to eliminate Hamas leaders abroad amid the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
