Karting in the UAE is embarking on an exciting journey as IAME UAE unveils the 2025/2026 season calendar and announces a groundbreaking partnership with Media Friends as the official media and broadcast partner.
IAME, established in 1968 in Italy and renowned as the world’s leader in kart engine manufacturing, plays a pivotal role in advancing the sport within the Emirates. Karting’s introduction to the UAE was fueled by Sheikh Waleed Al Qassimi’s vision, whose trailblazing initiatives set the stage for the vibrant championship we see today.
With over 20 years in motorsport media, Media Friends will manage all coverage aspects. Fans can anticipate top-notch live streaming, multi-camera setups, exclusive interviews, and digital content capturing the excitement of race weekends. For drivers and teams, this means increased visibility, wider reach, and deeper connections with a rapidly expanding motorsport community in the UAE and internationally.
The 2025/2026 season will include 10 championship rounds and the Middle East Cup 2026, taking drivers to the UAE’s most prestigious tracks. Opening in October at RAK Track in Ras Al Khaimah, the action moves to Dubai Kartdrome the same month. November sees races at Sharjah Kart Track, with January hosting two rounds at Yas Marina Circuit and the MEC at Sharjah Kart Track. The series then heads to Al Forsan in Abu Dhabi, concluding in February at RAK Track.
The championship will continue featuring four main categories—Bambino, Mini, Junior, and Senior—drawing competitors from the GCC and beyond. Aligning with international standards, IAME Italy will support scrutineering for the first time, ensuring fairness and competitiveness across all categories.
Giovanni Dezzani, CEO of Media Friends, stated: “We are excited to bring our extensive motorsport media experience to the UAE, where karting is rapidly evolving. Our aim is to elevate the sport’s visibility and provide drivers, teams, and fans with the coverage they merit. Collaborating with IAME UAE offers a distinctive opportunity to present a championship that is not only competitive but also engaging globally.”
IAME UAE also announced that RAK Track, the championship’s official home, will undergo renovations during the 2025/2026 season. These enhancements will include new technical features, improved safety measures, and innovative race dynamics, offering drivers a refreshed and challenging experience unique to the Middle East.
With a 10-round calendar, the MEC’s return, upgraded facilities, international-standard scrutineering, and professional media coverage, the 2025/2026 season ushers in a new era for karting in the Emirates.
