During the meeting at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the leaders reported on the progress of military operations conducted by Korean units abroad. Kim Jong Un praised the “efforts that led to the victory of our units in the operation to liberate the Kursk region,” emphasizing that these soldiers “performed extremely important tasks,” and asked them to convey his “warm combat greetings” to all the leaders and soldiers who participated in the operation.
The leader of Democratic Korea added that, according to the agency, the unit leaders returned to the country to participate in the first official ceremony to honor the generals, officers, and soldiers who “achieved immortal accomplishments in the military operation abroad,” which will be held at the headquarters of the party’s Central Committee.
It is noted that Russian Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov informed President Vladimir Putin last April that soldiers and officers from the Kursk region, including the participation of Korean special forces units, were involved in thwarting Ukraine’s attempts to penetrate the area.
