This came in a final statement issued after the meeting chaired by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, with the participation of foreign ministers from the member states. The meeting reviewed the latest developments in regional and international issues, focusing on the situation in Gaza. The council strongly condemned what it described as the “crime of genocide” being committed by Israeli forces against the residents of the sector, pointing out that the deliberate blockade policy has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis and led to famine in Gaza.
Israel continues its war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, and despite Arab and international mediation attempts and opposing voices within Israel, the Netanyahu government insists on continuing the fight. Recently, it announced approval of a plan to control the city of Gaza, which international warnings indicate will lead to a humanitarian disaster that will increase the suffering of the sector’s residents. The war has killed about 60,000 people and injured about 163,000 others.
